"El Matador Beach" won the Second Place Award at the National Oil and Acrylic Painters Society for the 2017 Best of America Exhibition taking place at Castle Gallery in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The judge of awards was Jason Sacran.

Brenda's 30 x 40 inch painting "South Rim Majestic" won the "Realism Award of Excellence" in the 22nd Annual Oil Painters of America Exhibition, held at Insight Gallery in Fredericksburg, Texas May 17-June 17, 2013. The juror of awards was world renowned master artist Sherri McGraw.

The gallery is located at 102 Kalmus in Costa Mesa, California. This painting was inspired by a trip in September driving and hiking along the coast of California.

Brenda's 30 x 40 inch painting "South Rim Majestic" was chosen to be included in the 7th Annual International Guild of Realism show to be held at the Jones and Terwilliger Gallery in Carmel, California September 7-30, 2012. The artist's reception and opening take place on September 15 from 5-8pm.

Artist-in-Residence at Badlands National Park in October-November 2010

Brenda was selected for the Autumn 2010 Artist-in-Residence program at Badlands National Park in South Dakota. Artists have long had an impact on our perceptions of national parks. Dramatic photographs, paintings, and descriptive essays helped to stimulate the establishment of many national parks and continues to foster an appreciation of them today. The Badlands Artist in Residence program offers professional artists the opportunity to translate preservation of this place into images that evoke responses from those who may or may not visit the park.

"The Big Picture: Our Nation's Western Parks" Solo show at the Pearce Western Art Museum

Brenda was chosen to be the 2010 Artist-in-Residence at the prestigious Pearce Western Art Museum at Navarro College in Corsicana, Texas. The show had fourteen paintings on exhibition of Brenda's work and included paintings from nine National Parks in the West including Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, Petrified Forest, Arches, Death Valley, Joshua Tree, Grand Tetons, Canyon d'Chelly and Olympia National Parks. As Artist in Residence Brenda taught a two-day painting workshop in conjunction with the show.

Brenda's painting, "West Rim Afternoon" was awarded an ARC Staff Award in the Art Renewal Center’s International 2008/2009 ARC Salon™. The Art Renewal Center is a non-profit educational organization committed to reviving standards of craftsmanship and excellence in art and their very impressive website is http://www.artrenewal.org/. The painting "West Rim Afternoon" is now on view and available at the historic El Tovar Hotel, on the South Rim of Grand Canyon National Park.
